This style of yoga includes standing, inverted, twisting, balancing poses, mantras, chanting, and controlled breathing. Linking the breath with the movement allows your body to become comfortable in each pose. Scaravelli inspired Yoga Classes with Helen

Fridays 9.30 - 10.45am

My classes explore yoga from an ‘inside - out’ perspective. Using the postures as a framework, we will work to undo tightness and patterns of holding in the body, through movement and stillness, and by making small adjustments. As we listen to the way our bodies’ sense, feel and breathe, we begin to unfold in often new and unexpected ways ..

This approach was pioneered by a visionary teacher, the late Vanda Scaravelli. Her book ‘Awakening the Spine’ has become a seminal text for those seeking a deep understanding through Yoga.

Classes open to all levels of experience, please wear comfortable clothing.

Slow & low Yoga, soft music, a sprinkling of calming breath work and a Savasana played in with Healing vibrations from the Gong whilst receiving Reiki from the Reiki Master

Life is full on right? Our modern lives becoming ever more complex. Sometimes we’re just so busy? Stressed? Anxious? (All of the above?) We’re racing along to the next thing and the next or we are stuck ruminating on whats been......Phew!

We come to restorative yoga to give a little back to ourselves, to take a little time to send a message to ourselves that we do care about us.

Let’s take  a tiny pause, relax, and feel a more grounded.

N.B Students are always given the choice at the start as to whether they want to receive Reiki from the Reiki Master during the class

There are no contraindications for receiving Reiki and previous students say it simply helps them to further de stress during the class.

Restorative Yoga with Meli

Thursdays 5:30-6:45pm

Meli completed her Yoga Alliance accredited teaching qualification with the House of Yoga. Her educational background is in acting; she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2018 where she studied Alexander technique and movement.

My restorative classes combine gentle stretching and movement with soothing breathing techniques. We will begin and finish most sessions with a short meditation, giving you time to land on the mat and check in with your mind and body. This class is designed to nourish and give you some time to yourself, along with providing simple relaxation tools for you to harness in your day-to-day.

Everyone’s body is unique. This means each person’s skeletal and muscular systems are built differently, and therefor require different kinds of attention. Embracing these differences and celebrating them is what I aim to be at the core of my classes, and it is what will help you get the most out of our sessions together.

Yin Yoga With Lara

Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm

Yin and Yang are Taoist concepts that describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin is slow, night, cool, and passive. Yang is fast, day, active, and hot.

Unlike dynamic Vinyasa (Yang), Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, typically ranging from 3-10 minutes.

This helps target the deeper tissues such as tendons, ligaments, fascia, and other connective body tissues. It is soothing and nurturing and allows us to move away from the “doing” and “achieving” of the yang energy and drop into a more receptive, calm, and meditative state.

Yin challenges us to look inwards and sit with any emotions, frustrations, and feelings that may arise. There are profound benefits to the practice that include increasing flexibility and range of motion in the joints and ligaments. It can improve emotional balance and help to reduce stress and anxiety and improve sleep. Suitable for everyone.

A traditional hatha yoga class, creating a sense of balance in mind, body and spirit.

Cultivating a deeper awareness of the body through correct alignment, while consciously focusing on the breath, we move towards calming the mind.

In traditional hatha yoga we use more static holds in poses, giving space to connect to the body and breath and find a sense of stillness within.

Hatha yoga is all about creating balance between opposites, between the active and the passive energies within us, to ultimately lead us closer to the depths of who we truly are
